U.S.S. Safeguard ARS-50

The Elite in the Rescue Salvage fleet, well it was the day it was commissioned, however it's over 20 years old now and was decommissioned in 2007. Built at the Petersons Shipbuilding yard in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and commissioned in 1985, this ship was the first in its class of 4, they were the Safeguard, Grasp, Salvor, and the Grapple. The 2 Even numbered ships the ARS-50 and 52 went to Pearl Harbor, HI while the Grasp (ARS-51) and Grapple (53) went to Norfolk VA.

You may notice the motto... "First in Class"... well.. we had so many troubles during shakedown that we always said, "First in Class.. Last to pass"
