Ladies and Gentlemen, Dirk Benedict...

Oh Boy, I was standing in line to get his autograph and the guy ahead of me was using his cell phone to tell someone that he was going to meet Dirk, the man behind Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica, finally he ended his conversation just as he was about to meet him, and while he was talking to him the lady behind me was on her cell phone and that's when I had the best laugh, Dirk looked right at her and said "Excuse me, no cell phones in my line, I'm afraid you will have to end your conversation", the guy gettting his autograph made the confession that he was on his cell phone and nothing was said, and then Dirk said "I know, that's why I said that." and then turned his attention to the lady who was still chatting on her phone and told her that he was just kidding. I tell ya folks, he has a great sense of humor, and then it was my turn to talk to him, and of course I handed him the money for the autograph and the Super8mm Battlestar Galactica film and then he said the same thing that Richard said, "Oh My... where did you get this" I told him that I got it on Ebay and that I was trying to get as many of the cast as I could to sign it, he told me that i missed Laurette Spang by just 2 conventions, she was here the one before Richard Hatch, so I was a little disappointed, but he assured me that Herb Jefferson Jr. was doing the convention circuit and that I should have no trouble getting his autograph, which would have made all three of the core actors. Then he posed for a pic with me and thanked me for watching the show, I asked him about if he would do any acting on the new Battlestar, and he said No.. they don't want me, they wanted Richard.. But somehow I think that if he was asked to do a role that he would jump at it.. of course I think he wasn't too keen at having a woman playing Starbuck. I really wish I had more money that day, I would have purchased one of his books that he was selling.
