Battlestar Galactica
Back in 1978 Universal Pictures released a Science Fiction movie about a group of survivors searching for a new home in another star system, the new planet was called Earth, however it seemed that the writing wasn't as good as Glen Larson had hoped so it eventually went the way of many television shows of that era and was cancelled just shortly after the first season was completed. However like many television shows it did show a bit of promise and was brought back to life in the form of that DREADED Galactica 1980, OH Please, don't try to tell me that it was the best they could do, I refuse to believe that. no wonder it was cancelled just after 13 episodes, oh but at least they found Earth, that was all they cared, GET THEM TO EARTH people will watch whatever we throw in their faces, oh hey, lets make them have the ability to disappear and to go back in time and do things that would normally cause suspicion... But it was funny.. NOT..oh I take it back as a kid I thought it was ok.. but then again I WAS LOCKED IN A MENTAL HOSPITAL during it's time on air..
The Greatest Story ever RETOLD
In 2003 Sci Fi channel aired the remake, I'm sorry.. the Re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica, and much to my surprise I really enjoyed it, oh sure they made Starbuck into a woman, as well as Boomer, however if that wasn't enough.... they made Boomer a Cylon.. and now the Cylons can take on Human form.... hmmm where did I see this before.. Oh I know.. it was on Galactica 1980 with the episode where the Cylons walked the Earth.. that episode had Wolfman Jack in it.. now back to the new Galactica, I think it was much better in the fact it was more realistic in the way things are, no lasers, they have bullets, and Nukes and the ships aren't so clean and perfect, they had their troubles, and now that they have completed the mid way point of the second season it is rumored that it has been picked up for a third season, a feat that the original couldn't accomplish, but don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the original.. when I need a laugh.
